June President’s Message
We have completed half of our show season and the race for Champion Saddles and top 6 awards is heating up. Remember you have to show at 4 shows to qualify for year-end awards. The Jeff Smith Saddles have been ordered and the Awards Committee is busy shopping for our typical high quality awards.
The feed ack has been positive on the Board decision to increase the number of 3 Fresh Head Cattle Classes. If you are using our show to get in a practice for future shows you now have classes you can be assured of getting fresh cattle regardless of your draw. In addition our rules do not restrict the number of horses you can show. The only caveat is the you have to declare in advance which horse will count for points in those classes where points go to the rider.
We are currently working to update our web page. One of the major issues is to improve our show entry form and process. We have heard the complaints and are looking to create a process very close to the process provided by Clements Cutting Club. More to follow.
Your Board is always trying to put on the best shows possible. To that end, the Board has modified our judges pay scale and established a goal of having Carded Judges for all of our shows.
If you have any comments or suggestions please contact any Board member.
Thanks for supporting GCCHA and we will see you at the next show on July 1st.
